18th Century Military Drill

» Musée Stewart

Authentic military drill performed by soldiers of the Compagnie franche de la Marine and/or the Olde 78th Fraser Highlanders: cannon-firing, exciting battle manoeuvres, music, and Highland dancing.

La Compagnie franche de la Marine, in blue and grey uniforms, perform drill, firing exercices and a mock attack on the fort, accompagnied by fifes and drums. The Olde 78th Fraser Highlanders, wearing the regimental kilt, perform firing exercises as well as pipe and drum music and Highland dancing. This activity takes place in the courtyard of the Museum.

19th Century Photography

» Musée McCord d'histoire canadienne

This workshop invites curious and inspired photographers to explore the incredible technological evolution of this artistic practice at the turn of the 19th century.

Everyday in July and August. All workshops and activities are bilingual and included with Museum admission, unless otherwise indicated. Opening hours Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Open Mondays on holiday weekends and during the summer months, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free admission on the first Saturday of each month from 10 am to 12 pm.

Join us aboard the Navark Dollier-de-Casson for a cruise along the Lachine Canal. Transit the locks, enjoy stunning views of the downtown area, and relive the history of the canal.

Tours do not operate on a fixed schedule; when calling to make your reservation, you can choose your arrival time between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Guided tour of the On our Shores exhibition at the Dorval Museum of Local History and Heritage

» Musée d'histoire et du patrimoine de Dorval

This exhibition looks at the events that have taken place on the shores of Lake Saint-Louis, going back to the arrival of Dorval's first European settlers.

The On our Shores exhibition will be presented from June 21 to September 30, 2007. The museum (1850 Chemin Bord-du-Lac - Lakeshore, Dorval) is open Thursday to Sunday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. For information, call 514-633-4314.

This activity takes place in the museum courtyard. Activities may vary depending on the day and are included in the admission fee to the Stewart Museum. These activities are held daily, from June 24 until August 19, 2007.
